A Princess. A Castle. And Kindness.

We’ve heard it before, but not the way that ten-year-old author Brook Ellis shares the story.

Young Author Releases Children’s Book with Proceeds Donated to Homeless Shelters and Agencies

Ten-year-old Brook Ellis turned her attention to writing short stories with a twist.  Brook and her family live in Broad Brook, Connecticut, and she attends the CREC Academy of International Studies Elementary in South Windsor.

Brook enjoys reading, writing, and acting out fairy tales and adventure stories.  She is very passionate about helping people in need, especially those who society shuns based on appearance.  She has done several volunteering activities in the community, including making cookies and assembling care kits for the homeless.

The natural disasters in the summer of 2021 captured her attention.  She expressed to her parents that she was very concerned about the devastation she was seeing on TV, resulting from the earthquake in Haiti and the flooding from the hurricane in Louisiana.  She was disturbed by the images of families losing loved ones, and those being displaced after losing their homes and livelihoods.  She was determined to help and decided to publish one of her short stories and donate the proceeds to those in need.

Her first book, The Kind Princess, was released and published in October 2021 through Indulgent Insights Publishing.  The Kind Princess emphasizes kindness and lending a helping hand to those in need.
